my tank was so full of rust dust that you needed a 12 pack of filters to go out for the evening. i followed the steps from KBS, (just added the six foot piece of chain /place in paint shaker for 20 minutes/rinse with hose for a hour as the first step) and have been cruisin in my ''58 rambler custom ever since. it had sat for about 20 years before i got it. find one of those tanks at a decent price!

To get the max out of this product, I had to get the gas tank “absolutely” free of rust. I did use the products with the kit (Rust Buster, etc.,) to remove rust but found that only with the use of some “muratic” acid and a power-washer did I completely remove the rust. The KBS finish was applied without issue. The KBS finish is very hard and has a slick finish which is a good sign. Time ( a year or so) will really tell if the coating performs to expectations – i.e. no flaking or separating.

I had a problem with a car that sat for over five years...plenty of rust in the tank along with other debris. My options were another used tank for $159, a restored or new tank for $459. I chose to use KBS coatings and do not regret the choice. KBS coatings was easy to use, good instructions, coating/sealant provided good seal and tank appears new again!
