Q: Could you use this paint on appliances such as a stove and refrigerator?

Asked by:  - 9/5/2013

A: Yes, you can use XTC on high temperature (above 500 degrees F.) appliances as long as you can heat cure the appliance surface which allows XTC to reach it's maximum cure. Be sure to check out the heat cure process in the XTC Directions.

For a fridge, most customers use RustSeal for its durability and most fridges do not see temperatures above 500 degrees F.

Q: I am looking to apply to a wood furnace exterior. Can the curing be done by burning the furnace at a low temperature? How long?

Asked by:  - 7/10/2014

A: Yes, get the temperature of the surface to 350 for 30 minutes and the XTC will be fully cured. For an exterior application, please remember to apply 1-2 coats of XTC Primer before the XTC.

Q: XTC won't harm a aluminum head will it? I am told some paints and coatings can't be used on aluminum parts.

Asked by:  - 7/12/2014

A: The XTC and XTC Primer can be used on aluminum. Always prep the aluminum with sandblasting or wire wheeling and cleaning the surface with KBS Klean.

Rating Great product for coating exhaust manifold
Combined with the KBS Coatings XTC Extreme Temperature primer this is a great alternative to powder coating. Do it yourself and save money. I used KBS XTC primer and paint on my Lotus Esprit Turbo Exhaust manifold that gets notoriously hot! On a aggressive drive these manifold will actually glow red from heat! Coating has adhered and stayed on my manifold even after driving for several months,, I defintly recommend KBS products if your like me and would rather do it yourself and save some of your hard earned money

I needed white side pipes to complete the cars overall look. I've tried several over the counter products, taken the pipes off and had the coatings applied with no luck. even S company in NY state changed their adds to read , WILL DISCOLOR AFTER TIME. I've found your XTC to work the best for the look I have to have to make the car (beast)correct, thank you, I'll be a returning customer!

I used this after the RustBlast product on my exhaust headers. The flame blue color. I enjoyed everything about it except the time between when it's dry and heat treatment. it flakes really easily

Rating Exhaust header paint
I fabbed exhaust piping with mild steel piping. Mig welded and cleaned and prepped. Used high temp primer and tried aluminum spray. Primer Went down very smooth and even. The aluminum came out textured. Not what I was looking for so I used the jet black high temp on rest of exhaust parts over the primer and it came out flawless. Super smooth and clean finish. Kinda a semi gloss look. I have still to heat cure it and test durability to exhaust heat. But very pleased with finish work.

Product appears very suited for the application, my exhaust header runs really hot and has burned away other products, this one however is doing great so far. the colour is not as vibrant as when first applied but it still looks good

Rating Definitely use this product.
Best manifold paint around. Color is great and did not peel off and leave a mess like another brand I had. Thanks for making our Chevelle look great again.

Rating Saved me a ton of dollars!
Both the primer and the ETC coating saved the day on my headers. I was looking into refabricating with stainless or ceramic coating the existing header pipes. 650 degree engine paint was just laughing before it burned off or turned orange. The KBS products are still looking great!
