- Exhaust headers, manifolds, pipes & collectors — use XTC Xtreme Temperature Coating. Rated to 1,500°F and guaranteed not to burn off.
- Bare metal headers or heavily rusted exhaust surfaces — start with XTC Silicone Zinc Rich Primer before topcoating with XTC for maximum adhesion and corrosion resistance.
- Rusted or faded brake rotors & calipers visible through wheels — the Rotor Restoration Kit includes everything needed to clean, prime, and coat for a showroom finish.

XTC High-Temperature Coating — Header, Exhaust & Stove Colors
XTC is available in 12 colors plus a clear option — including popular finishes like Flat Black, Aluminum, Ceramic White, and Header Gold. Unlike many high-temp paints, XTC does not require oven curing or a torch burn-in cycle. Applied to a properly prepped surface, XTC cures through normal heat cycling during use.
XTC is formulated for any application where metal regularly exceeds 500°F, including:

For bare metal or previously rusted surfaces, pair XTC with XTC Silicone Zinc Rich Primer — a high-temperature zinc-rich primer that provides galvanic corrosion protection up to 1,200°F and creates an ideal bonding surface for XTC topcoats.

Whether you're painting an engine block, coating headers, or restoring calipers, proper surface prep determines how well any coating performs. KBS prep products — KBS Klean degreaser and RustBlast rust remover and metal etch — are formulated specifically to work with KBS topcoats, including Motor Coater and XTC.
