To achieve expert results, please take the time to carefully read and understand the following directions before you begin your restoration project. These directions are meant to be general guidelines only and do not cover every application or environmental situation. If you have remaining questions or concerns, please contact us for technical assistance.
ALWAYS WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES AND SAFETY GLASSES. ALWAYS WORK IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA. Please heed all labeled warning and caution notices on all products.
IMPORTANT: Keep KBS Patch in UV-protected package until ready to apply to repair area.
Surface Preparation:
Always apply KBS Patch to a clean dry surface. Avoid using any solvent based cleaners which can leave residues.
If the surface to be repaired has been painted with a glossy paint, scuff the painted surface with 300 grit to create an ideal anchor pattern allowing the KBS Patch to permanently adhere.
Dilute the KBS Klean concentrate with water. The warmer the water, the more effective and powerful the cleaning action of KBS Klean will be. Effective dilution rates will vary according to the type and degree of contaminants as well as surface materials.
For general purpose cleaning, apply liberally and scrub surface for 5-10 minutes. For heavy-duty cleaning, extended soaking times up to 24 hours or more may be necessary. Use a bristle brush or scouring pad to expedite the cleaning of heavily soiled surfaces. Retreat surface as necessary until clean. Do not allow KBS Klean to dry before rinsing thoroughly with water. After rinsing, let dry completely. The surface should be bone dry before applying KBS Patch.
KBS Patch Application:
1) Cut KBS Patch into any size you want without exposing to UV or Sunlight.
2) Remove white backing tape to expose the sticky resin.
3) Apply KBS Patch to repair area with sticky side down.
4) Press firmly to repair surface.
5) Remove transparent film backing on other side after application.
6) Curing times depend on UV intensity, approx 5 minutes (sunny) and 30 minutes (cloudy), or 10-20 minutes (KBS UV Light).
7) Place remaining KBS Patch back in the protective pouch.
8) Drill, sand, and/or paint when cured.
Very Easy To Use!
Surface should be cleaned, dry and free of any contaminants.
