Q: May I use XTC xtreme coating on mufflers with light rust?
A: Yes, you can use XTC on mufflers. Get a coat of XTC Primer down first and then 1-2 coats of XTC.
Q: Can this product successfully be used to paint the exhaust on a Harley Davison?
Yes. For an exterior application like you are describing, you will want to get down 1-2 coats of the XTC Primer
and then 1-2 coats of XTC.
Q: Could you use this paint on appliances such as a stove and refrigerator?
A: Yes, you can use XTC on high temperature (above 500 degrees F.) appliances as long as you can heat cure the appliance surface which allows XTC to reach it's maximum cure. Be sure to check out the heat cure process in the XTC Directions.
For a fridge, most customers use RustSeal for its durability and most fridges do not see temperatures above 500 degrees F.
Q: I am looking to apply to a wood furnace exterior. Can the curing be done by burning the furnace at a low temperature? How long?
Yes, get the temperature of the surface to 350 for 30 minutes and the XTC will be fully cured. For an exterior application, please remember to apply 1-2 coats of XTC Primer
before the XTC.
Q: XTC won't harm a aluminum head will it? I am told some paints and coatings can't be used on aluminum parts.
The XTC and XTC Primer can be used on aluminum. Always prep the aluminum with sandblasting or wire wheeling and cleaning the surface with KBS Klean
Q: After applying 3rd coat , how long do you wait before starting engine to seal that final coat?
A: Please allow second coat to cure at least 8 hours before subjecting to temperature curing.
Q: Does the primer have to be cured before the paint is applied?
You can do your temperature curing described in our directions
after you have applied both XTC Primer and XTC.
Q: Is Jet Black XTC a gloss, semi gloss or flat black?
A: The XTC Jet Black is a flat black finish after it is completely cured.
Q: Can this be used to paint the inside of a fireplace?
A: Yes, you can use XTC on the inside of a fireplace in all places that do not see direct flame conflict. NOTE: It would be best to apply a coat of the XTC Primer and then the XTC.
Q: Can XTC be used on Motorcycle pipe heat shields? and do you make it in flat black.
Yes, XTC can be used on pipe heat shields. Because the area is exposed to the elements, please apply a few coats of XTC Silicone Primer
first and then the XTC in Jet Black which is flat black in color.
Q: If I paint Harley Sportster exhaust headers with the XTC Primer and XTC paint, will it be okay to do an exhaust wrap after the paint is properly cured?
A: Yes, if you temperature cure the XTC Primer and XTC, you can put an exhaust wrap over it with no issues at all.
