Rust Blast For the Win

The Rust Blaster worked great to transform the rust on my block to a solid paintable surface to took the Rust Seal and Motor Coater paint like a boss!

Makes Paint Stick

I always use RustBlast when I am cleaning metal for painting no matter what paint I am using. This is the key to getting paint to stick forever!

Almost amazing.

This product is great and does a very good job at removing rust down to the bare metal. I like the zinc coating it leaves behind. It was very easy to use.

Great Stuff, shoulda bought the kit.

This is great stuff. Definitely grind and sand before you etch with zinc phosphate ( step 2) . I used steel stick for any repairs. Then painted with this candy safety blue rust stop paint and wow what a difference.

Rust Blast Works As Advertised

Purchased this product after some online research. Restoring a classic car. Gets the surface rust and grime off bolts and all metal products. Highly recommend!

Trust the 3 Step!

Regret not getting any before or after pictures but I cleaned, prepped and sealed the door sills of my 2000 toyota 4runner underneath the weather stripping because an excess amount of undesired rust had been discovered. My application process could have been made easier with the right tool but that was on me. Once this stuff dried, it is highly scratch resistant which is fantastic considering my feet tend to graze over this area, probably causing the rust in the first place. I'd trust KBS over any other kind of "Paint Over Rust" that's out there. Trust the 3 step process!

KBS Works Great

We used the three step system on our 1990 Jaguar XJS fuel tank. The car had been stored for 21 years and never ran. Tank looks like new with a very sound coating inside. Looks better than the commercial restorations costing over $600.

KBS Rust remover

Im doing a resto on a 67 fastback needless to say it had been sitting a few years, I tried the KBS rust remover treatment and I was amazed how effective this is! Great product, treat it, rinse and repeat if needed.

rust blaster

Worked well on very light rust only. I had to use other products for more serious rust. Products like naval Jelly and Must For Rust worked better over-all.

73 chevy Rod

I have been using KBS products for years on car restoration projects.from rust blaster to rust seal it is all fantastic products. here are a few pictures of one project that is not completed yet. the entire underneath will be finished with KBS products. the frame, fuel tank and floor have been finished with Rust Blast and rust seal, inside and out.

Etching

Using RUST BLAST in the prepping process of the roof of a project. 4 people to enable keeping it wet for 30 minutes and then flushing with water as per instructions. The result, a nicely etched roof ready for Epoxy primer.

The Good Stuff

While my tank was already fairly rust free internally, I did go ahead and give it the " Blast" just to insure a good bond with the "Gold". It looked even cleaner after the " Blast" treatment.

Great for prep

I deal with many rusty parts doing mechanical restorations. Didn't really have any type of rust inhibitor or anything other than wiping down or blowing off with compressed air. Now using RustBlast after cleaning I can see the extra rust that was left on the parts when rinsing them off.

A: Yes, as long as the contact is casual and the RustBlast is rinsed off with water, RustBlast should not affect your wiring and rubber components.

A: New steel is usually very smooth, so we highly recommend leaving the surface wet with RustBlast for a minimum of 30 minutes so that you have an ideal surface profile when you go to apply the RustSeal. Also, remember to keep the surface temperature as warm as possible (within our temperature guidelines) because the warmer the RustBlast is, the more effective the RustBlast is.

A: Yes, you can etch a surface with RustBlast and then apply an epoxy primer, etch primer or any other kind of coating. RustBlast etches the surface and creates an ideal anchor pattern for the coatings to properly adhere to the surface.

Q: I have a pellet grill of 10ga steel, will rust blast work on it to be top coated with a stove paint?

A: Yes, you can use RustBlast on steel to etch the surface in a high temperature coating application. We do recommend when rinsing the RustBlast with water to lightly rub the surface with a scotch brite pad which will remove the zinc phosphate that is typically left behind by RustBlast. You want to do that because zinc phosphate is not rated up to the temperature required for high temperature applications.

Q: What color is RustBlast?

A: RustBlast typically does have a dye in it. The reason: So a difference can be seen between RustBlast and KBS Klean as these two products are typically put in spray bottles for application. The color of the dye we use depends on what is available so please do not assume that one color of RustBlast is better than another color. The dye is simply in there so you know you are using RustBlast and not KBS Klean (which is clear).
